Progentos

Progentos is developing a new class of medicines designed to restore the protective coating around nerve fibers that is lost in diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS). Damage to this coating, called myelin, disrupts communication between nerve cells and drives many of the symptoms of these diseases. Progentos’ approach activates the body’s own repair cells to rebuild myelin and restore nerve function. By combining expertise in chemistry, biology, and advanced disease models, the company is discovering and developing novel small-molecule medicines aimed at regenerating damaged nervous system tissue. Progentos is backed by a syndicate of leading life science investors led by Forbion and operates in Watertown, Massachusetts and Naarden, the Netherlands.
